Advent Reflection Series: Introduction

YOLO ….You Only Live Once…Happy Advent!

When I met up with my brother at a party last week, we shared a lot and in my bid to encourage him to pray I introduced him to the prayers said by most catholic monks, nuns, priests and the Pope. The Divine Office: www.universalis.com. I also encouraged him to pray the Rosary daily like our late father did. He replied, ‘hey common, the rosary is only for the month of May and October no?’

Wise counsel from St Paul's letter to the Corinthians,(1Cor 1:3-9) invites us to mirror the lives of the early Christians who were enriched with so many graces, probably through their prayerfulness more than being consumed by materialism. Christ's message (Mark 13:33-37) to stay awake this Advent season could just be the other reason to watch and pray with a decade or 2 or the whole rosary! Why not? You only live once! Yolo....Happy Advent!
